My parents were in and out of jail for the majority of my childhood and I grew up feeling unwanted. That led to me not trusting people, depending only on myself and making a bunch of bad choices that landed me in jail. I saw my path beginning to resemble that of my parents and remembered those feelings I had when I was a kid. Today I have two children, a girl and a boy, who I swore to do right by. The drive to be a better father Uncornered me. My kids will never feel unwanted. They’re the reason why I changed my path, they motivate me, push me, and remind me why I am Uncornered every day.
