I spent 12 years in prison. During that time I lost my biggest support system, my mother. Five days before I was released, my son was shot and I lost him too. I had every reason and opportunity to go back to the streets. I was stuck in a cycle of self-loathing when I got a call about a job with Boston Uncornered. That job gave me a purpose to be better and do better. Prison took a lot away from me, serving others helped me get myself back. That’s what Uncornered me and saved my life.
