I had entered prison so sure of myself, I was smarter than my teachers and even being new to this country I was making more money than them by selling drugs. What kind of lessons did I need? But when those doors closed, when my roommate got knifed, and when I wondered how I ended up here, locked up, the lifers were there for me. They talked, and I sat and listened.
